POLICE have advised the public to accordingly report the loss of their identity cards and not make up stories of being robbed as a reason why they lost the identification documents.
Gombak police chief Zainal Mohamed Mohamed said 71 people have been charged with lodging false reports on the loss of their identity cards to avoid being fined by the National Registration Department this year.
These individuals are aged between 20 and 40, he added.
“Investigations showed that the complainants provided false excuses like being robbed or falling prey to snatch thieves. Seventy-one people have been charged, while two others are under investigation,” he told a media conference in Gombak, Selangor, today. – Bernama, June 24, 2022.
